We will combine in a 4 hour tour some of the best in Cusco: The nearby archaeological Inka remains, and the Colonial art treasures from the Spanish times. We'll visit the archaeological park of Saqsaywaman (The fortress-temple), and the nearby shrines of K'enqo (funeral worship) and Tambomachay (cleansing water rituals), beside the ancient Tambo of Pukapukara (Inca’s storage place & Inn.). Out of the most outstanding colonial monuments, we will visit the Cathedral, famous for its gold & silver baroque style and the Korikancha (Temple of the Sun).
Departure : 2.00 p.m / Half day tour.
Included : Tourist bus & English speak guide.
Duration : 4 hours.
You may wish to combine some of the most spectacular (and uncommon) visits in the Andes. We will pick you up from your hotel; on Sacred Valley road we take a detour to Maras town, a colonial village remaining in many ways untouched for centuries; its economy is built up from agriculture and the exploitation of the salt mines. “Salinas” is the name of an ancient system built by the Incas for drying the salt waters that run from salty springs down to a huge cluster of ponds carved on the mountain slopes. Moray, on the other hand, is a great amphitheatre - like system of concentric terraces built centuries ago for farming purposes. However intensive agriculture was not the main reason: Agricultural research was probably the purpose of these gigantic structures.
Departure : 9:00 a.m / Half day tour.
Included : Minibus & English speak guide.
Duration : 5 hours.
Visit to the village of P'isaq, where the Indian market takes place three times a week and the archaeological site too. After lunch, in a cosy hacienda-like restaurant, we will visit the village of Ollantaytambo, the only Inka town which is still inhabited, we will also visit the temples and towers above the town. A colourful and relaxing experience with friendly people, Inka archaeological remains, snow-capped mountain, all of these in a pleasant bus ride over paved mountain roads.
